I used to build bulldings. Then one day I fell. I wasn't supposed to wake up - but I did. And when I woke up, I had to learn how to do everything again. Walk. Talk. Eat. And my mind has been racing at 200 miles per hour ever since. During your meditation tonight was the first time my mind has been quiet in 30 years.
You are an amazing woman. I knew that instantly. I believe there are good reasons why certain people enter our lives. I thoroughly enjoyed the Yoga Nidra practice yesterday.
In our Reiki Training, Margaret taught us how to use the Reiki energy to heal and revitalize ourselves. Reiki has allowed me to manage the pain from chemo treatments without drugs.
After my Reiki session with Margaret, the chronic back pain that is always with me was gone. I was relaxed, energized and calm. I felt very connected with the earth.
Through meditation training with Margaret, I have reduced stress and can now manage my migraines. Before I didn’t want to look ahead because I had all this misery. Now I actually look forward to life. I can’t wait to see what the next possibility is that’s coming down the road. It thrills me that something so good for you like meditation releases unknown tensions. You don’t realize all the stress and tension you were holding inside until it starts to go away. Meditation brings so much good stuff into your life and it’s not hard to learn. It’s simple compared to how much it helps you. I could get migraines daily for months. When you have a migraine, you don’t want to get up and do anything because sounds and light bother you. You become numb to migraines. You can’t imagine life without them. They were so frequent that they were just a part of my life. When I had a migraine, instead of being with family and friends, I was in a dark room alone. That’s depressing. The physicians say, “Here, take a pill for this. Take a pill for that.” I rely on them. They just don’t always point you in the right direction. Before I began meditating, I took five pills every night at bedtime: 1 muscle relaxant, 1 melatonin and 3 regular preventative meds. Now I take one pill at bedtime. I was frustrated. The doctors kept giving me meds. I would take a handful of pills just to function. They dulled the pain but the migraines never really went away. It took me a while to get to the point where I began looking for something else. People don’t search for something less invasive that actually works. They get worn down and do whatever the doctor tells them. My physician was prescribing Botox injections. This protocol would have been 30 to 40 shots per treatment around my head every three months. I was so desperate that I was considering it. If doctors would offer other options, you wouldn’t get to the point of despair. When I start getting stressed, I meditate until I am relaxed. I am less stressed at work. When I meditate, I get completely relaxed and at peace. Before I start to study, I use the alternate nostril breathing technique. It helps me retain more of what I am learning. I use the visualization technique before I go to sleep at night to relax and calm me. It has allowed me not to take as much migraine medicine. I’m more relaxed and not as stressed. Relaxation helps with the headaches. This is big stuff especially considering how much medicine I was taking as a preventative. I used to take three pills daily as a preventative measure and three more when I got a migraine (6 pills/day). Now I’m just taking one a day. If I feel a headache coming on, I take one of the three preventative meds. Meditation makes you happier. You enjoy life more. I catch myself smiling more for no reason. Results to date: Happier. More Relaxed. Less Stressed. Fewer Meds (a LOT less). Through meditation, you get rid of all this junk that caused all of your issues. You get rid of things you didn’t realize you had in there. When you’re on the path and making progress, it’s within the realm of possibilities to keep evolving. There’s no limitation. You can continue to grow and evolve in all different ways. Migraines are limiting. Meditation is limitless. Meditation affects all aspects of your life – not just one area. It’s like a snowball. You get rid of the junk so the good stuff is allowed to flourish. I use meditation at the right time. I apply it at work to avoid getting “pull out your hair crazy stressed-out.” I practice meditation at home to maintain the calm and peace that it brings. I intend to get to the point where I don’t even need medication. I will meditate until I’m peaceful all the time no matter what. Before I didn’t want to look ahead because I had all this misery. That’s all I could see in my future was more misery. Now I can’t wait to see what the next possibility is that’s coming down the road. I can see myself living life and not just hiding in a dark room because I can’t stand the sight of light.
Margaret's extensive training and knowledge refresh and renew physically, mentally and emotionally. I am now enjoying a healthy, balanced and energized life thanks to the knowledge gained from her yoga, meditation and Reiki classes.
This is THE yoga I have been hungering for since I began practicing over 25 years ago. It manages stress, relaxes deeply and offers profound rejuvenation. Incorporating chant, asana, guided relaxation, yogic breath work, meditation and rest periods to integrate the energy is brilliant!
As I saw this woman walking towards me at the Theia Light Center booth for the Women's Show, she caught my eye with her grace, beauty and flowing movements. Little did I know what effect she would have. After introductions and some conversation, I found in her a calmness that permeated my mind. As a practitioner at Theia, I am familiarizing myself with other holistic modalities offered there. I joined Margaret's Yoga Class series. My first impression with her soon became evident. Margaret's yoga classes challenge me to relax and let go physically and mentally. The grace and softness of her flowing movements along with a voice that would calm a lion became infectious with each passing class. She gently guides warm ups then then challenges as the class progresses. My body and mind become calm and light. This is the starting point that boosts my personal T'ai Chi Chic practice. I chuckle about the the lack of flexibility some areas in my body have. It all becomes worth it during the final portion or the class as she guides us through a Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation to relax. Margaret's Yoga Nidra Guided Meditations are invaluable. She guides us through healing meditations for all purposes big and small. Experiencing her wisdom has effected me. I look upon her grace and poise and gather in these qualities to improve myself. Margaret's yoga and meditation classes have become very enjoyable for me. I continue to look forward to them more and more.
I give up overtime - double time - to come to yoga. Before studying yoga with Margaret, my body was nervous. I couldn’t concentrate. Now my body is limber and calm. My mind is relaxed. Yoga helps my performance at work which is a big plus. I’m still on the go but not as stressed as I was. I’m physically, mentally and emotionally stronger. Working with a class improves learning. It becomes more enjoyable. There’s a sense of community. I’m all about energy. When we start the practice, results are immediate. Energy circulates automatically. I always leave class feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Yoga has taught me to relax. At first, I couldn't wait for mediation to end. Now I can sit for a long time and meditate. I enjoy the peaceful feeling that meditation brings. The stretching is wonderful. Yoga limbers everything up. I can feel a difference. Before yoga, I would follow the crowd. My Reiki session was amazing. I cleared subconscious blocks that had been holding me back for years. It gave me clarification of my life and helped me focus on my goals. Physically it healed me of 6 cysts on my right ovary and 3 on my left. Reiki is a gentle healing modality that leaves you ready to face your world.
I started practicing yoga about 10 years ago at various studios in New York City. At the time, I thought yoga would be a good way to maybe stretch a little and get into shape. I never even took into consideration what it could do for my mind. After moving to Hanover, I was asked by a couple of ladies to join them in a yoga session at Margaret's studio. I came out of the first session absolutely blown away by our practice. Before that day, I had no idea yoga could focus my mind in such a way. Margaret's creativity and generosity of spirit makes our practice a beautiful challenge each time we meet. After more than a year of study with her I have increased the flexibility of my body and of my mind. Each student is never pressured to push too far, but is always gently encouraged to REACH for more. Her inspired teaching style has made me more aware of my body, my mind, and of my spirit, and I continue to grow every day thanks to the gift she has given me.
In an energy healing session with Margaret, I always leave feeling completely liberated, balanced, and at peace.
